The South In Focus
Wed, January 30th at 6:00 pm - Free Admission
This past summer, a group of graduate film students traveled to Birmingham to participate in a six-week film fellowship sponsored by the Southern Environmental Law Center. Each of the students chose an issue related to conserving Alabama’s natural resources.
These students did an impressive job of telling great stories about the extreme importance of protecting our environment and the relationship of that work to our health and to the state’s economic prosperity. The students, who traveled here from around the United States, returned home with a new perspective of Alabama and a deep appreciation of our state and what it has to offer through its incredible biodiversity.
The screening first will take place here at the Crescent Theater in Mobile on January 30 at 6 pm. The next evening we will show the same films beginning at 7 pm on January 31 at the USA-Baldwin County Performance Center in Fairhope. This screening is hosted by the Southern Environmental Law Center.
