20 teams signed up to participate in the 6th Mobile Bay Film Scramble. Teams were given 13 days to complete a short film based on a brief story summary provided by the Mobile Writer’s Guild. The loglines for this scramble were designed to inspire films with a mixture of self-contained drama, psychological thriller, fantasy, science fiction, suspense, or horror, often concluding with a macabre or unexpected twist, along the lines of The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits.
13 teams completed films that were screened at the Crescent on September 28th and 29th, 2012. The film Ryme of the Drunken Mariner by Joshua Cane & Luke Buckley has been awarded first place, as determined by combined Judge’s Ballot (Director Drew Hall), Audience Ballot, and Filmmaker’s Ballot.
